Kaya Anderson wasn't a very happy girl, always forgotten and ignored, she hated the way her brothers were more loved, more happy, more talented than her. She’d often be in a depressed mood, but she had Blaze. Blaze was her German Shepard, her best but incredibly aggressive friend, her brothers hated him, but she didn't care. She was somewhat happy that she had someone to love and cuddle.
She smiles to herself, putting down the sharp knife she had, normally due to her depression. She got up and went downstairs, walking in the kitchen in time for dinner. She kept her normal expression on and ate politely like normal, dinner time was finished pretty quick, as per usual she was left to do the cleaning and chores. She jumped when she heard a bark, turning around she smiled, It was Blaze again.
She walked up and leaned down to cuddle him, mumbling loving words to him softly. She stood up straight again and continued doing her chores, she was often bullied by her brothers but her parents didn't seem to care.
"They don't care at all," she sighed to herself and walked up to her room, sitting on the bed and picking up the knife. Staring at the cold sharp blade, Blaze barked at her again, jumping up on the bed and licking her cheek, she smiled and put the sharp object down.
Cuddling up to the dog and falling asleep, soon she'd wake up to find he left and it was the morning, yawning, she sat up and rubbed her brown eyes. Getting up, straightening her glasses and putting on her usual attire, jeans, green trainers, and a green hoodie, she quickly went down for breakfast. Being as shy as she was, she never did talk much during breakfast.
One day, she went downstairs to find her brother re-filling the dog bowl, unusual for him. She noticed an unusual bottle on the counter, one she hadn't seen before.
“What are you doing?” she said coldly. Watching as her brother, Ryan, turned around, “I’m feeding your stupid dog, What does it look like?”, she stepped closer.
“Then what’s that?” She gestured to the bottle on the counter, he looked at it and sighed, “None of your business.”,
Kaya walked up and grabbed the food bowl, throwing it in the bin, She shook her head, “I know when my Blaze is in trouble.... I also know when my brother is...” Ryan looked completely confused, Kaya reached into her pocket, grabbing the sharp knife. She couldn’t quite remember putting it in her pocket, but she took it out and pushed her brother against the wall, Ryan showed signs panic, he didn’t expect her to do this at all. She was always so weak; So pathetic to him, “I’ve had enough of you, Ryan.”
He tried to push her off but she was surprisingly stronger, he gasped as she pushed the sharp object gently to his throat.
“Bye-Bye you son of a Bitch!” she let out a insane laughter as she pushed the knife deep within his throat. Backing up slightly she watched as her brother fell to the floor, realizing what she had done she paused. Fear, adrenaline, and panic rushing through her veins as the pool of blood got bigger and bigger, she hid the knife back in her pocket while she wiped the some of the blood off. She decided to drag her brother's corpse out of the house, making sure she didn't get caught, she gave one last look of guilt before running to the bathroom to wash her hands and tell her parents about the incident, acting like she didn’t do it, and lying about what had happened, she ran right to her room, sitting on her bed as she hugged her knees, feeling the guilt rush up on her, she started to cry.
How could she have done that to her own flesh and blood?
Why did she do that to her brother?
That was her brother for crying out loud! She felt a nuzzle on her shoulder, she turned to see Blaze, she hugged him tightly, still crying. She froze when she heard the police sirens, this was it, at least life couldn't get worse, right? Wrong, she heard her mom shout, “Kaya!, Get down here now!” She held back even more crying, walking down the stairs lazily, Blaze following close behind, she fell silent as the cold stares of the police pierced her eyes,
“Miss, Do you mind if we ask a few questions?” She shook her head, her shyness getting the better of her. “Okay, Where were you when you last saw your brother alive?” She paused for a minute or two before mumbling,
“In the kitchen, I was feeding my dog...”
“Okay, and when you found him dead?”
“Well my dog ran out into the backyard so I went out and found him dead.”
”The the blood is trailed from the kitchen, what do you think about that?”
“I don’t know, I must've left before the killer got here.”
“Okay, when we got here, we noticed that you went straight away, is there a reason?”
She looked up at the police, wiping her eyes which were still red due to her excessive crying. “Because, everyone calls me weak and I didn't want you to see that I was crying...”
“Your brother was killed, wouldn't you think you’d have some emotions?”
She just started to hold back crying, “Yes....” She began to cry “I miss him so much...” She hugged Blaze again
“Don’t you think she’s upset enough?, sorry officers, but maybe you should leave for awhile,” Her mother informed, obviously very stressed and upset, a few weeks after that had passed.
Everything had calmed a little, Kaya still felt incredibly guilty, just thinking about the way his lifeless body was just lying there made her want to throw up, she looked at the blood-stained blade, not bothered to clean it at the moment, she slid it back in her pocket and went to get some sleep. It was a very stressful this week and she needed to get some rest.
Although, when she laid down she just couldn't fall asleep, the guilt and regret getting too much, the next day she looked at the clock to notice she didn't even sleep for a minute. She looked in the mirror to find her eyes slightly dark from lack of sleep, she let out a soft sigh as she went on the computer to look through the pictures of dogs on the internet.
That normally made her smile, until she stopped at a picture of Blaze, she looked confused until she clicked the link, her brother Alex had put Blaze up for sale, she felt utterly shocked heartbroken, she went over and knocked on her brothers door, walking in when he didn't answer, she realized he must've gone out, smirking, she went over and logged in his computer, editing the advert as ‘Closed’ she logged off again, deleting the browser history first though, she went out her room to find her brother right outside the door.
“What were you doing in my room?”
She looked up at her brother, “I was looking for you.”
”Why?”
“...I have something private to say...” He paused and pulled her into his room, shutting the door,
“What is it?” Kaya sighed, locking the door and closing the windows and curtains
“You didn't have to do that to tell me something.”
“I know, I just want to be safe.” He looked confused at that statement,
“Why did you do it, Alex?”
He still held a confused look, “Do..What?”
“I’m not stupid.”
“I didn’t kill Ryan if that’s what you mean.”
”No, why did you put my dog up for sale?”, Silence filled the air as Kaya had a cold stare on her face, Alex looking worried,
“I...Look, I have a deal with this person, Okay?, And I need the money desperately.”, Suddenly, something snapped in Kaya’s mind, she realized what he did.
“You were going to sell my dog for money, and what for, drugs?” She yelled.
“No, It’s not like that!”, She let out a annoyed growl-like sound, harshly pinning him against the floor.
“Then what is it like?” He froze, beginning to worry and panic. “I don’t know!”
“You wanna know what I know?”
He looked at her, she looked.... Different, “What...?”, She pulled out the knife, “I killed Ryan”, Alex gasped, quickly getting scared, he tried to push her away,
“How?...No...Why?” He was confused and scared, she laughed, almost in a insane way.
“Like this.” She quickly stabbed the blade into his neck, his eyes widened as he silently fell to the floor, she just laughed again, tears starting to fall down her cheeks. She didn’t understand it, she didn’t understand why, she quickly went to wash her hands again, and again, acting innocent and running to her parents to tell them. It was the same thing all over again, the police, the tears, the crying, the fear, the pain.... and the guilt, about three days later Kaya was brushing her black hair, emotionless, she sighed, what sort of horrible monster kills her own brothers?
She put the brush down and went downstairs to eat dinner, her parents still shocked, Blaze eating his meal like he doesn't even care, like nothing ever happened, Kaya was just a, emotionless, empty....guilt-ridden monster who killed her own brothers, she went back up to her room and just smiled to herself, she knew there was no help now, this isn't a game, they can’t just respawn and be okay, it was far too late, they’re gone...forever..., oh well, they didn't care anyways, she just laughed, laughed silently as she remembered the feared pained and scared expression they gave her, she went downstairs to find her parents crying again, she sighed, her father realized her staring and glared back, something wasn't right, her eyes just looked.....cold, Kaya emotionlessly walked up and hugged her dog, Blaze, after all, he was the reason behind all of this, her father saw a slight smile on her face, frowning, he got up and walked towards her.
“How can you smile at a time like this?”
“Because...” She got up, “I have no reason to care.” Her father went too far this time, he harshly slapped Kaya across the face.
“Care about that?”
He shouted, her mother went into the kitchen to clean up the mess, still emotionally sobbing, her father realized something. “Did.... did you do it?” Kaya looked surprised, she didn't expect that at all.
“You did, Didn't you?” her father yelled, grabbing her neck tightly, she gasped for air as he tightly held her throat, she had no other choice, she grabbed the knife, tears spilling out of her eyes as she put it right into her father's throat, crying she ran away, going to the bathroom she cleaned her hands, she was panicking now, how would her mother take this?, she calmed her breathing down, freezing when she heard a scream, And crying
“Mother!, what happened?” She put on a fake confused face and ran towards her mother.
“Your....Father....!”
Her mom looked pale, she ran towards the sink in the kitchen, throwing up at the sight with shock and stress, Kaya sighed, what had she done?, she couldn't deal with it, she couldn't deal with the police again, she carefully snuck up behind her mother, picking up her fathers hammer from the toolbox in the kitchen, they were going to put up a shelf, to be filled with memories and pictures, maybe even happy ones, not a chance now, she swung the hammer right into the back of her mothers head before falling on her knees and crying, her mother lying dead next to her, great, it was a double-murder now!, she hung her head lowly in the guilt and shame that she felt, how did she become this monster?, then she started to laugh, an insane and almost emotionless laugh, rocking back and forth on the floor as she mumbled and laughed to herself, picking up the knife, “Might as well make the most of it.”
She heard the door knock, she dragged her father into the kitchen, washing her hands and quickly running to the door, “Hello?”
“Hello, it’s the police, we’d like to ask your father some questions.”
“Sure, I’ll go and get him” She laughed like a psycho and dragged his lifeless body, leaning it against the wall and writing a letter above him in his own blood, 'Goodbye.' was what it said, she opened the door very slightly. “Come on in.” she shut and locked the door before running away out the back door, possibly she'd end up killing more and more people until caught... if she was caught, she could feel the insanity slowly taking over, still laughing, Blaze followed happily, it almost looked like he was....Smiling.
